Former Dance Mothers and Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa is having a rebrand as a foul woman – and he or she’s going for Miley Cyrus’s notorious Bangerz period.
Greatest recognized for showing beneath the (typically brutal) tutelage of Abby Lee Miller from seasons 5 to eight of US actuality TV sequence Dance Mothers, JoJo Siwa has just lately began what can solely be described as a reasonably jarring rebrand.
Removed from the hyperactive YouTube movies, sparkly glitter, unicorns and hair bows that have been the hallmark of the JoJo Siwa model, a current look on the crimson carpet of the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards noticed the star – who got here out publicly in 2021 – wearing a head-to-toe mesh bodysuit full with Kiss-inspired make-up, a mohawk and shoulder spikes(?)

Talking to Entry Hollywood on the crimson carpet, JoJo Siwa was requested what the inspiration behind her rebrand was, to which she replied that current Beyoncé collaborator and first time Grammy winner Miley Cyrus is on her imaginative and prescient board.
“That is what I would like. [Cyrus] is my primary idol. I wish to do what she did with Bangerz. I wish to have that second. I’m flattered that the world even can evaluate that.
“That’s loopy to me.”
Cyrus’s 2013 Bangerz album is the place the singer actually – in keeping with most people’s pearl-clutching notion – divorced herself from her Hannah Montana, youngsters’s TV persona.
The album contained hit singles “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Cease”, which got here with music video nudity, doable drug references and usually extra grownup themes than earlier choices from Cyrus (although 2010 did present us with earlier album Can’t Be Tamed).
