On the eve of the beginning of the Cannes Movie Competition, embattled Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof is gaining assist from others within the movie business.
Tribeca Competition co-founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal have issued an announcement on the sentencing of Rasoulof.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the dissident Iranian filmmaker has been sentenced by Iran authorities to eight years in jail in addition to a flogging, a high-quality, and confiscation of his property.
His lawyer, Babak Paknia, introduced the information in a put up on X on Wednesday.
