Roughly a yr in the past, acclaimed singer-songwriter Jesse Malin was paralyzed from the waist down when he suffered a spinal stroke. To assist together with his medical payments and rehabilitation, quite a lot of his musical friends have recorded his songs for a tribute album titled Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin, set to reach on September twentieth.

The songs cowl Malin’s solo materials and his recordings as frontman of the New York Metropolis punk band D Technology. Bleachers’ rendition of “Prisoners of Paradise” from Malin’s 2007 solo album Glitter within the Gutter may be heard beneath.
“As at all times in my songs, the themes are all there— transcendence, positivity and world unity via music,” said Malin. “That is what I like to do, and I’m going to do every thing I can to maintain doing it.”
So far as his rehabilitation is anxious, Malin informed Rolling Stone in December, “I get some power again in my legs, but it surely strikes loads slower than I would love. I don’t need to painting it like I’m able to do the James Brown splits onstage. I positively have an extended technique to go, however I’m blessed and so grateful for the superb followers and pals that I’ve.”
