Swept Away, a musical with a rating by the Avett Brothers, will come to Broadway’s Longacre Theatre this fall.
The musical, which follows 4 survivors of a shipwreck in 1888 making an attempt to remain alive, together with a younger man and his older brother, the captain and the primary mate, will begin performances Oct. 29, with a gap evening on Nov. 19. The manufacturing had earlier runs at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and Area Stage in Washington D.C.
The musical incorporates a guide by John Logan (Purple, Moulin Rouge! The Musical), path by Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Fool) and choreography by Tony Award nominee David Neumann (Hadestown). Matthew Masten, Sean Hudock and Madison Wells Stay are the producers.
Broadway casting can be introduced at a later date. The Avett Brothers initially introduced the transfer to Broadway throughout a live performance at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. At the moment, the band introduced out John Gallagher Jr., Stark Sands, Adrian Blake Enscoe and Wayne Duvall, who had been forged members within the earlier productions.
The Swept Away artistic workforce contains music arranger & orchestrator Chris Miller, music arranger & orchestrator/music supervisor Brian Usifer, music director Will Van Dyke, set designer Rachel Hauck, costume designer Susan Hilferty, lighting designer Kevin Adams, and sound designer John Shivers.
