Deicide chief Glen Benton has sounded off on the state of the fashionable heavy steel scene.
In brief, Benton feels that issues have merely gotten much less steel, citing the hyper sub-categorization of the style and the onstage apparel of those that play it.
Benton’s remarks hail from a brand new interview with KNAC.com. At first, Benton describes his upbringing when he was surrounded by basic steel resembling Black Sabbath and Judas Priest — the music that motivated him to the profession path he’s been on for many years.
“I keep in mind being on the breakfast desk 7:30 within the morning with my boombox blasting ‘Paranoid’ at my mom,” he stated (as transcribed by Blabbermouth).

I’ve all the time been that manner, too, concerning the guys onstage, man. You’re not gonna come on the market sporting a fucking plaid shirt and white tennis footwear. It’s not occurring.”
