Rap icon Nas is becoming a member of a inventive staff to deliver a stage musical adaptation of the 1984 hip-hop movie basic Beat Avenue to Broadway.
Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, higher referred to as Nas, made the announcement tonight at a fortieth anniversary screening of Beat Avenue on the Tribeca Movie Competition. The Grammy-winning artist stated he has joined the inventive staff adapting the movie for Broadway.
Further inventive staff members will likely be introduced in coming weeks. A manufacturing timeline was not introduced.
The Beat Avenue musical is being produced by Arthur Baker, Michael Holman, and UK-based tech investor Richard Fearn, and can increase on the movie and create new materials to enhance the movie’s musical numbers. Producer Holman was an affiliate producer of the unique movie, and Baker was its co-producer, composer and music producer.
