Marla Mindelle, who starred in and co-created the Off-Broadway hit Titanique, is debuting her new musical The Huge Homosexual Jamboree Off-Broadway this fall.
The present is co-written by Mindelle and is described as a parody of musical theater itself. Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Margot Robbie’s manufacturing firm LuckyChap are serving as producers of the present.
In 2019, LuckyChap had introduced a deal to provide the title as a film musical for Paramount, nevertheless that has not but materialized. Their involvement within the stage present marks LuckyChap’s first foray into theater.
The Huge Homosexual Jamboree includes a e book by Mindelle and by Jonathan Parks-Ramage (writer of Sure, Daddy), with music and lyrics by Mindelle and Philip Drennen and course and choreography by Connor Gallagher (Beetlejuice on Broadway). Mindelle received a 2023 Lucille Lortel Award and Obie for her portrayal of Céline Dion in Titanique, a parody of the Titanic film as informed by Dion. Titanique, which opened in 2022, obtained the 2023 Lucille Lortel award for Finest Off-Broadway Musical and remains to be operating on the Daryl Roth Theatre.
